What are credits? How are they consumed?
Credits are Plain's internal AI compute unit. Each AI operation deducts credits based on actual usage (~50 credits for a deck, 1–5 for doc edits). Subscription credits reset monthly; top-up credits never expire.
Which plan — Pro, Max, or Team?
1–2 deliverables a week → Pro (1,000 credits ≈ 20 decks). 5+ a week → Max (5,000 credits ≈ 100 decks). Multi-person workspace → Team, 1,000 credits per seat shared pool, 3 seats minimum. For mid users, a couple of top-up packs usually beats jumping a tier.
Out of credits? Will I be charged silently?
No. AI operations pause when credits run out. The system prompts you to buy a top-up pack or upgrade — no surprise charges. Top-up packs start at $5 / 200 credits, with bulk discounts.
Cheaper than Microsoft 365 + Copilot?
Microsoft 365 Business Standard $12.50 / user / month + Copilot $30 / user / month = $42.50 / user / month — and that only buys you PowerPoint + Excel + Word + AI suggestions, not "AI ships the deliverable."
